Goodwill Industries is a network
of separately incorporated and autonomous 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organizations. Therefore, each Goodwill agency has its own
local board of directors. Board members contribute their
experience and expertise to provide leadership to Goodwills in the
areas of workforce, retail, contracts, and industrial services, and
nonprofit management.
Additionally, Goodwill invites
representatives from the local business community to serve as advisors
on the design of job training programs and career services to ensure
that they fulfill the needs of local employers and meet industry
standards. Business advisory councils are involved in
activities such as developing and reviewing curriculum, providing
placement assistance, giving technical advice, and networking with
other influential members of the local business community.
